Staff and Leadership

Here at Cary Christian Church, we take the Bible as the true word of God, and try our best to obey its commands.  In the New Testament description of the church, there are explicit instructions as to who can serve as Elders and Deacons.  These instructions are mainly out of Paul's Epistles: 1 Timothy and Titus. While we recognize other churches as true Christians, we recognize no governing body above our Elders.  Our Elders, Deacons, and Ministers are all voted on by our local congregation, after a thorough investigation and interview process.  Other Staff members are appointed by these brothers, and serve under their authority.  And we would be remiss if we didn't mention that we have many many volunteers who serve in a multitude of positions so that we can serve each other and the community at large

Senior Minister - Dan Rutherford

Dan Rutherford is a third generation Christian Church minister who loves to preach and teach God’s word.  After graduating from Cincinnati Christian University (then called Cincinnati Bible College) in 1993, he served churches in Kentucky and Tennessee.  He began his ministry at Cary in February, 2002.  He has been married to his high school sweetheart Lisa for over 17 years.  They have three children:  son Tanner, and daughters Abigail (Abby) and Emmalyn (Emma).  They share their home with Rex the Dog, Lizzie the Cat, Zig-Zag the Rabbit, Dennis Hopper II the Tree Frog, and three fish whose names change on a regular basis.  Dan is a below average golfer and an above average Mexican food eater.    Click here to send Dan an email.

Sam Loveall has recently joined CCC as our worship minister.  Sam was born and raised in a preacher’s family in the Southwest United States (Oklahoma and New Mexico). He was ready to attend the Univ. of Oklahoma (having been born and bred a Sooner fan), until he met some students from Roanoke Bible College and was moved to change his life’s plan entirely.  Over the years, Sam has served in a number of ministry positions, both as a job and as just a guy in the church – preacher, teacher, elder, worship team leader, choir director, morning drive man for WPJL in Raleigh, worship minister, and Bible College professor.   Sam and Marlys were married in 1991, and were members here at CCC from 1992 to 2000.  They’ve now returned to pick up the ministries and friendships they left behind.  Click here to send Sam an email.
