Missions and Outreach

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father

and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you;

and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.  Matthew 28:19-20

Transformed Hearts, Transforming Lives

At Cary Christian Church, we strive to redefine how our members view "church missions." The typical view of the local church's missions program is a committee made up of a few individuals in the church who are passionate about reaching non-believers in other parts of the world. In many churches, this is accomplished primarily by the distribution of a small percentage of the church budget to a few missionaries, at most, represented by some larger organization.

At Cary Church Church, we believe "church missions" is much broader and deeper than the financial support of a few individuals or organizations serving in other parts of the world. That is just the tip of the iceberg.

So, how do we define church missions? First here is what missions is not:

  • "Missions" is NOT another church program.

  • "Missions" is NOT the administration of financial support for foreign missionaries.

  • "Missions" is NOT a few passionate individuals stuck in long monthly meetings debating which few missionaries from a long line of requests will be supported during the next year.

  • "Missions" is NOT limited by the church budget.

And now for the rest of the story:

  • "Missions" IS the fruit of transformed hearts!
When our hearts are truly transformed by the love of Christ, we cannot help but desire to serve others and hope that their lives will be transformed too!

  • "Missions" IS Loving and serving your "neighbors"
whether across the street or across the ocean, with the hope that they, too, will come to know the love of Christ.

  • "Missions" IS using your individual talents and abilities in service to your "community"
to grow others to a saving knowledge of Christ.

Primary Goals/Focus/Vision :

  • Educate and redefine the congregation's view of "church missions."

  • Attract individuals to service based on the individual's unique passions, talents, and skills.

  • Organize and promote opportunities for individuals to serve.

Here are some of the organizations we support.
